We had our first meeting of the new term on Tuesday with our hugely impressive Vice President of Membership @Patricia Goka Soc stepping in at the final hour to act as Toastmaster for the evening and guide us through a meeting on the theme of “Change”.
It was a great first meeting of the new term and we were treated to four prepared speeches: @~Evanthia Athens GRand @~Temi delivered incredible ice breaker speeches followed by @Lauren SOC and @Chirs Bovell giving two fantastic speeches also. Fun was had by all with evaluations delivered in the afternoon followed by the usual table-topics excitement.
Winners on the night were Lauren for her insightful speech on why slamming doors can have repercussions whilst best evaluator was jointly on by @lola SOC and @Ruban. Best table topics was won by our guests for the evening Francesca.
The next meeting is in person at St Mary’s on 16th July and we look forward to welcoming new guests who would like to improve or take their first public speaking steps in the supportive and encouraging environment that is Speakers of Croydon!
